Ready for a little more adventure on your walks?
Following the success of last year’s scrambling programme, we’re delighted to announce that scrambles will be returning to the Ramblers East Cheshire walks programme this summer.
The Peak District is home to some of the finest scrambling terrain in the country, and our upcoming programme will take in some of its most exciting and dramatic landscapes. From the rocky edges of the Roaches to the famous gullies of Kinder Scout, these walks offer a chance to experience the hills in a completely different way.
Expect hands-on adventures on routes such as Grindsbrook Clough, Crowden Clough and other classic Peak District scrambles, where steep rocky sections, flowing streams and hidden valleys provide a rewarding challenge and unforgettable views. These are the places where walking becomes a little more adventurous, a little more exciting, and a lot more memorable.
Don’t worry if you’re new to scrambling. Our walks are designed to help members build confidence while enjoying the support of experienced leaders and fellow walkers. No climbing equipment is required, but participants should be comfortable on rough, steep and occasionally exposed terrain.
Scrambling is a fantastic way to discover parts of the Peak District that many walkers never see. It adds a sense of exploration and achievement to a day in the hills and is a great way to develop your mountain skills.
Dates and details will be appearing on the walks programme soon, so keep an eye on the website and our regular communications. Places may be limited on some routes, so be sure to book early when they are announced.
If you’ve been looking for an excuse to step off the beaten track, this is it.
We’ll see you on the rocks!
