Within very easy reach of the towns of East Cheshire there is superb walking country with the opportunity for a variety of different types of walk. The area between Stockport, Macclesfield and Buxton provides beautiful hill country. There are valleys with fast running streams, fascinating rocky outcrops and wild open moorland. The area is well served by an extensive network of public rights of way. There are many excellent viewpoints and an abundance of birdlife and other interesting aspects of natural history. The walks described here have been prepared to give the walker an insight into the type of walks the area has to offer. All routes are circular with somewhere to park at the start.
