East Cheshire Ramblers Social Event “Canterbury and Other Tales: Treading Ancient Trails“

Friday 19th April, 7.00 for 7.30 pm.
Macclesfield Tennis Club, Park Lane, Macclesfield SK11 8JR
£8 including a light supper

Join us for a fascinating and entertaining evening with Canadian Adventure Travel Writer, Kim Letson, who is touring the UK with her latest book.  Kim will entertain us with extracts and stories from Canterbury and Other Tales, a captivating account of six long-distance walks in England and Europe: The Coast to Coast, Cornish Coastal Path, the Ridgeway, the Pilgrims’ Way, Portuguese Camino, and the Via Francigena from Canterbury to Rome.

Having a military father, Kim spent childhood years living in Canada, England and Germany. She and her husband, Mike Simpson, served in the Canadian Forces for 20 years before retiring to Vancouver Island, where they raised their 2 sons and pursued second careers as professional ski patrollers on nearby Mount Washington. When Mike died of brain cancer in 2007, Kim sought solace in international travel and long-distance walking.

You can read more about Kim on her blog www.kimletson.ca

Kim has written four books on travel, with her last two devoted to long distance walking.  They are highly entertaining and available in the UK (£16.99). Kim will bring a few copies of the latest to sell on the night (£15 cash) but you can guarantee a copy by pre-ordering for £14 (signed copy). Please email Melanie Davy at m.davy2906@gmail.com to pre-order.

We hope you can join us for what promises to be a fascinating evening.
